Research
IASB must take responsibility for providing a sound base of objective, unbiased, credible and accurate knowledge, based on sound principles of research that challenges and shapes the beliefs and actions of Iowa school board members and educators to ensure the highest levels of achievement for all students. As a result of original research conducted by IASB and the study of research conducted by others, IASB will hold itself accountable for producing the following:

Distinctive knowledge and information about school board leadership for high and equitable student achievement.

Distinctive knowledge and information to guide district actions and decision-making for high and equitable achievement.

A change in beliefs and practices in Iowa school board members that results in higher student achievement.

Policy level support for practices that results in higher student achievement.
Priority for selecting major research efforts will be determined by the potential to produce the information, beliefs, practices, and policies (as mentioned above) that are critical for high and equitable student achievement.
